Keiko Kitagawa (北川 景子 Kitagawa Keiko?, born August 22, 1986) is a Japanese actress and former model. She was an exclusive model for the Japanese Seventeen magazine from late 2003 to mid-2006, and left modeling when she left the magazine. Her first acting role was Sailor Mars in the Sailor Moon live action show Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (2003-4), and after her role in the film Mamiya Kyōdai, she left modeling to concentrate on acting. She has appeared in several films, including The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) and Handsome Suit (2008), and has played leading roles in the TV Dramas Mop Girl (2007), Homeroom on the Beachside (2008), Buzzer Beat (2009, Lady Saigo no Hanzai Profile (2011) and "Akumu-chan" (2012).
From growing up in Kobe and losing many friends in the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake to being uncertain about her childhood dream of being a doctor. Fortunately, fate had other plans for Keiko when she was scouted by a talent agency who recognized her as a born star.
Approval from her parents was not an easy task because their main concern was her studies and having her graduate from a university. In the end, Keiko proved to be victorious winning Miss Seventeen 2003 and landing a modeling contract until 2006.
Kitagawa Keiko was signed to an exclusive modeling contract with Japan's seventeen magazine after being one of the winners of the 2003 audition. She made her seventeen debut with a 7 page feature at the front of the Nov 01, 2003 issue.Kitagawa made regular appearances in seventeen magazine until her retirement from modeling in mid-2006. She followed up her debut in issue (2003) and has continued to appear every two weeks since then.
