Nathalie Kelley (born 3 October 1985) is a Peruvian-born Australian actress. She is best known for her roles in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Body of Proof.
Nathalie Kelley was born in Lima, Peru to a Peruvian mother and Argentine father. She moved to Sydney, and dreamed about being an actress when she was 13 years old. She attended North Sydney Girls High School on Sydney's North Shore. When she was 16 she became a salsa dancer, which helped her get the money to finish her education. The "Miss Latin America competition" also earned her a much-needed $1,000, before she took a year off and went to Brazil. The things Kelley saw there prompted her to shun show business and come home to launch herself into a social science degree at the University of New South Wales. She volunteered with Indigenous Australian youth in the inner-city suburb of Redfern before moving to Los Angeles and eventually becoming a film actress
She was raised and educated in Sydney's North Sydney Girls High School, the same school as Nicole Kidman.The young actor, who has been torn between show business and an academic life, says she never met Kidman but the 38-year-old superstar has been a long-time inspiration.
Director Justin Lin is on the record as saying Kelley is one of those irresistible stars whose presence demands we watch her on the big screen, she was more preoccupied with the driving.Kelley, who had only recently earned her driver's license and had only driven automatics, had a huge learning curve when it came to using a gear lever, timing, braking and understanding the art of drifting.
Kelley previously played Neela in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and has also had guest roles in shows such as Lone Star and CSI.Body of Proof, which premiered earlier this year, stars Dana Delany as a former neurosurgeon who becomes a medical examiner after a car accident.The second season of the show will begin on September 20 on ABC.
