Katrina Kaif (pronounced [kəˈʈriːnaː ˈkɛːf]; born Katrina Turquotte[1] on 16 July 1983) is a British film actress and model. She is primarily known for her work in Bollywood films, though has also appeared in Telugu and Malayalam films. She has achieved popularity due to her physical beauty, and for being one of India's highest-paid actresses.
Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to a Kashmiri father and English mother. Katrina, one of eight siblings, all girls, spent subsequent years in Hawaii, and then in London. She started her Bollywood career with 'Boom' and saw success with 'Sarkar'.Her flick 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya' opposite Salman Khan, earned her an award. Kareena Kapoor raised eyebrows after her comment on 'Koffee With Karan' calling cousin Ranbir Kapoor's rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif as her sister-in-law. While Kareena pulled Ranbir's leg on the show, at another event superstar Salman Khan also called ex-girlfriend Katrina his sister-in-law!

Sajid Nadiadwala's upcoming action-thriller, PHANTOM, starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, has commenced shooting in Mumbai. The film began shooting in October 2013 in Beirut, Lebanon. During the shoot in Lebanon, the cast and crew were provided security due to the political instability in the country. Saif Ali Khan, who plays the lead role, will be seen speaking lines in Kurdish, which the actor reportedly learned specially for his role. The movie is about post 26/11 attacks in Mumbai and global terrorism, where Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif play the role of secret agents.
In addition to acting in films, Kaif has supported charitable organisations, and performed for stage shows. In 2008, she took part in Temptation Reloaded 2008, a series of concerts showcased across several different countries. The show, which also featured Arjun Rampal, Kareena Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan, Ganesh Hegde, Javed Ali and Anusha Dandekar, took place at the Ahoy Rotterdam venue in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Dhoom 3' has set a new record for the fastest hundred crores beating Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Chennai Express's' record. The third installment of the Dhoom franchise, according to its makers, collected Rs 107 crore over the weekend.
