We also offer the New York State Insurance/Point Defensive
Driving Class to
organizations as a fund raiser
and to companies as a training option.
Upon completion of the class, each student receives a
certificate which
requires all insurance companies to
issue a discount of up to 10% on liability, P.I.P. and
collision premiums.
The Dept. of Motor Vehicles will reduce
the driving record of up to 4 points.
Not-for profit groups benefit in the following ways:
a) Funds are raised for the organization.
b) Publicity is afforded each group.
c) Techniques are learned that help make our city a
safer place.
We provide all books, certificates, course materials etc.
The sponsoring
organization must provide a room
suitable for the size of the class and a TV-VCR setup.
The organization is allowed to raise extra monies by
selling food,
raffles etc.
There must a a minimum of 20 students. A maximum for any
class is 40.
More than one class, however
can be given the same time at the same location if teachers
are available.
We require two months to send the required forms to
register the class
and to publicize it.
We receive payment the day of the class based on the
number of students
attending. Students make their
checks payable to your organization, as they may be entitled
to a partial tax
deduction, and you pay us with an
organizational check.

o a 10% discount on LIABILITY premiums for
three years, including:
Property damage (PD)
Bodily injury (Bl)
Personal injury protection (PIP)
To be eligible, complete the Defensive Driving
Course (DDC) through one of our approved
training agencies.
Your three year discount will apply to
premiums to all vehicles for which you are
listed as principal operator including:
o Automobiles
o Trucks
o Recreational vehicles
o Motorcycles
Reduce
Driver Record Points
Four (4) points will automatically be deducted
from the total on your driver record if you have
incurred violations during the 18-month period
prior to completing DDC.
The point reduction could help you avoid a
license suspension! Points which are reduced
remain on record but are not counted by the
DMV in determining administrative actions
against license.
Please note, the point reduction will not cancel
a mandatory suspension or revocation, e.g.
three (3) speeding convictions within 18
months; nor will it cancel any action which is
already being taken
