Bhama is a Malayalam film actress. She debuted in 2007 with Nivedyam directed by renowned screenwriter-director Lohithadas. She completed +2 (Pre-degree equivalent) at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Mannarkkadu. She was doing a matrimonial programme on television titled Thaali. Lohithadas spotted her in the programme and casted her in Nivedyam(2007).
Bhama's co-star in the film, Vinu Mohan is also a debutant. Her second film was Hareendran Oru Nishkalankan directed by Vinayan; in which she was casted opposite Manikkuttan. Her new project is Cycle directed by Johnny Antony; the co-stars being Vineeth Sreenivasan, Vinu Mohan and Sandhya. The film is a major success and is touted as the 'the first genuine hit of 2008'
Bhama only been seen playing the traditional girl-next-door kind of roles on the Malayalam screen, is a well-known face in both Tollywood and Kollywood as well. However, the actress now says, though she is a Malayali, she is more comfortable working in the Kannada film industry.
"I find it more comfortable working in Kannada films rather than in Malayalam. Right from the start, I got strong characters and lead roles in Sandalwood. Luckily, all the films fared well at the box office too," says Bhama in a recent interview. However the actress adds that, she also wants to be a part of good Malayalam films. Meanwhile Bhama is busy with Vayalar Madhavan kutty's Nakku Penta Nakku Takka and Jijo Anthony's Konthayum Poonoolum.
Bhama says that Indrajith is her best friend in the industry. Nivedhyam was her debut movie in Malayalam. But, later she did Hareendran Oru Nishkalangan along with Manikuttan and Indrajith. From then, she says that Indrajith has become her best friend. Indrajith and Bhama have done two more movies together including College Days and Husbands In Goa. In College Days, Indrajith played the brother to Bhama and in Husbands In Goa, they played the spouse to Samvrutha Sunil,and Jayasurya, respectively. But whatever it be, Bhama says that he is her best friend and she is even close to his family.
Bhama is one of the finest actresses' that the industry have witnessed so far. She took a break from Malayalam and was busy in Kannada and Telugu films. She even shocked her audience by performing an item number in one of the Kannada films. Now that actress is back in Malayalam and that too loaded with films! Bhama has signed four films in Malayalam. Of the four, 100 Degree Celsius and Kadha Veedu are getting ready for their releases. D Company and Konthayum Poonulum are her filming movies. D Company is an anthology of three features directed by three directors. Bhama is seen in the feature Day Of Judgement.
Another movie of Bhama, tilted Konthayum Poonulum, has Kunchacko Boban pairing opposite her. Bhama plays the role of Amritha, a mother of a one year old child in the film. This movie is directed by debutant Jijo Anthony. Konthayum Poonulum also features Manoj K Jayan, Kalabhavan Mani, Saiju Kurup, Joy Mathew, Sathar, Indrans, Sona Nair and Sobha Mohan in supporting roles. The shooting of the movie is progressing in Trivandrum. 100 Degree Celsius has Shweta Menon, Meghna Raj, Bhama, Ananya and Haritha playing lead roles. The movie is based on a real life incident and revolves around the lives of five women - a housewife, banker, IT professional, TV reporter and a college student.
