Amy Louise Jackson is a British model and actress, working mainly in the South Indian film industry but also in Hindi language films of Bollywood. She won the Miss Teen World competition in 2009 and then went on to win Miss Liverpool in 2010. She made her acting debut with the 2010 Tamil period-drama Madrasapattinam, and followed it up with her first Bollywood release in 2012, with the romantic drama Ekk Deewana Tha. She starred in a 2013 Telugu film Yevadu alongside Ram Charan and Shruti Haasan.
Jackson was born in the Isle of Man to English parents, Alan Jackson and Marguerita Jackson. She has an elder sister, Alicia Jackson. The family returned to their parents' home of Woolton, Liverpool, two years after Jackson's birth so that her father, who is BBC Radio Merseyside's producer, could continue his media career. Jackson attended St. Edward's College, gaining ten GCSEs, and then went to sixth form to study English Language, English Literature and Philosophy and Ethics.
Upen Patel and Amy Jackson are currently in chennai and said to be filming a song that has been tuned by AR Rahman. A source says, "Shankar, being the perfectionist he is, made Upen and Amy go through several rehearsals before canning the song. Amy Jackson has joined a PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) campaign and has posed with her own cat Alfie, for PETA. In the poster, we get to see AMY holding her cat, with angel wings and a halo drawn over her head. The message reads, ‘Be an Angel for Animals: Adopt. Don’t Buy!” That picture is so cute and we dunno who looks cuter, Amy or Alfie? Reportedly, the cat that Jackson is holding in the pic is a rescued one. Amy found her when she was only six weeks old. Alfie and four other kittens were abandoned on the side of the road, when Amy and her sister found them. Though three of them didn’t survive, Alfie and Frankie found a permanent home with Amy and her sister.
At an event, the Yevadu actor said, “Every time someone buys a cat or a dog from a breeder or a pet shop, a cat on the streets or in an animal shelter loses his or her chance of finding a good home.” She added, “We can stop the cycle of animal homelessness and save lives by opening our hearts and homes to a loving cat or dog from an animal shelter instead of buying animals from breeders or pet shops.” Well now, if only there were more people who shared Amy’s thoughts, no? After all, how can you put a price on someone’s life by buying animals? Way to go, Amy.
