Ileana D'Cruz The Cute Telugu Actress Wallpapers

09:12

Ileana D'Cruz was born in Mumbai and has three siblings — older sister Farrah, younger brother Rhys and youngest sister Eileen. Her first name comes from Greek mythology, meaning Helen of Troy. Her family relocated to Parra, Goa when she was 10 years old. Her mother tongue is Konkani. She is Catholic.

During that time, the manager of the hotel her mother was working in, suggested that she has a beautiful face with a vibrant smile and should start modelling and fixed a meeting with Marc Robinson. Though initially reluctant, she was persuaded and her first portfolio was created in January 2003, which she described as a "disaster". She began gaining notice through photo shoots and ramp shows and her second portfolio was set up the following year, which landed her three advertisements from Electrolux, Emami Talc and Fair and Lovely. The latter, in particular, which was directed by Rakesh Roshan, gave her exposure and brought in several offers for acting in feature films.

Former Miss India finalist Erica Fernandes is finding her foothold across various film industries. Considering she made her debut on screen with Tamil film Aindu Aindu Aindu, people could not help but notice the similarities she had to actress Ileana D'Cruz.
Currently shooting for Kannada film Ninnindale, opposite Puneeth Rajkumar, Erica tells us, "I have been told I look like Ileana many times. We met in Dubai briefly, and I didn't think we look alike at all. In photographs, there are a couple of profile pictures that probably look a bit similar, but otherwise, there is no similarity whatsoever," says Erica.

Southern heroine Ileana D'Cruz who starred opposite Vijay in Shankar's 'Nanban', a remake of Aamir Khan's Bollywood hit film '3 Idiots' was seen bonding with her 'Barfi' co-star Priyanka Chopra at a common friends birthday party. The pretty heroine had made her Bollywood debut with critically acclaimed film 'Barfi' which had Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead.

The sexy ladies were spotted having great fun together at a party recently. Ileana expressed her happiness over seeing Priyanka and having fun, while Priyanka Chopra acknowledged the southern star and conveyed that she would like to catch up more often with her. Ileana had won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'Barfi'. The lean and sexy heroine is busy working on her next Bollywood flick 'Happy Ending' starring Govinda, Saif Ali Khan, Ranvir Shorey, Kalki Koechlin, Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Ileana D'Cruz loves the guessing game. We find it difficult to know whether the beauty is single or attached. The Goan-beauty is picking at a platter of cut melon and pineapple, talking about life as we know it, when suddenly, there's a loud thud-like noise outside the room of the suburban studio we're in. In a surprising move, Ileana instantly walks out the door to see what's happened (surprising because it's usually the managers who do that).

There, on the floor, is a 20-something girl trying to get up after an embarrassing fall. After helping her up and making sure she isn't hurt, Ileana points out at a big sign that says, 'Caution, wet floor ahead'. "You must keep your eyes open while walking. Be more careful next time," she tells the girl matter-of-factly. That's just how Ileana is. Straightforward and simple. There's no pretence with her.

Once we get back inside, she flashes her million dollar smile and says, "I've had a crazy day but I am loving it." Ever since her debut film Barfi!, life's been a whirlwind for her. "When people ask me to describe my journey in Hindi cinema post Barfi! I actually don't know what to say. Simply because I have just been doing one thing after the other. I can't go slow. Every hour I ask my manager to tell me, what's next on my agenda."

Even though she's far from doing a post-analysis of her career, she considers herself lucky to be working with big banners. "I am being selfish here by saying this but I believe Barfi! helped me the most. It got me recognition and respect." Talking about her films, Ileana's second release, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (PPNH), didn't fare as well as expected at the box-office. However, the actress is proud that she was a part of the film. "The reason I did PPNH was because I wanted to do something different, wacky and mainstream after Barfi! I enjoyed doing the film. It was not the kind of commercial film where I just had to look pretty. I was involved in the process of making the movie and I liked that."

But she denies rumours that she couldn't see eye-to-eye with her PPNH co-star Shahid Kapoor, "God knows where these stories come from. I had a great time working with Shahid. It's a mad comedy. We had to be comfortable with each other to do such stuff. In fact, I am as fond of Shahid as I am of Varun (Dhawan, her co-star in her next film Main Tera Hero)."
